The 8000 family of boards provides double the number of module slots enabling the user to support a wider array of protocols on a single platform. All protocols supported by the 4000 family will be supported by the 8000 family and the API is the same for both families.
Users will note a new, smaller but denser connector on the 8000 boards and some modules max out at a smaller channel count than their M4K equivalents but, since the 8000 boards support twice as many modules, the 8000 base boards will always support at least the same number of channels as the 4000 base board equivalents.
Our sales professionals and engineers are available to answer any questions you may have regarding the transition to the new family. We recognize that there are challenges in the upgrade process and will do our best to aid you in the process. Obsolescence is one of the greater challenges in our industry and we are proud to have been able to support the 4000 family for over 20 years.
